Plumbing Northern Beaches

There is never a good time for something to go wrong with your plumbing, but what happens if a pipe bursts or you discover a gas leak in the middle of the night? Not only can occurrences like these be potentially dangerous for you and your family, but the damage they cause can also be quite costly to repair if not addressed as quickly as possible.

Here at RD Plumbing and Gas, we are proud to offer you the service you need, when you need it most. We will dispatch a technician to your home at any time, day or night. We offer our services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Northern Beaches, so that you can get your plumbing problems fixed and get back to your life.

Here are a few of the most common plumbing emergencies you may encounter in your:

Gas Leaks

Gas leaks are potentially one of the most dangerous problems you can have in your home. Just a single spark can send your whole house up in flames. If you think you smell gas, immediately turn off all of your gas-powered appliances and call us right away. It is always better to be safe than sorry, so you may wish to wait outside with your family until we arrive just in case anything goes wrong. We promise that we will get to your home as quickly as possible.

Blocked Drains

Blocked drains are probably the most common issue that we get called out for. Although they are not especially dangerous, blocked drains can be quite frustrating, especially when you and your family are rushing to shower and get ready in the mornings. Rather than waiting until your drain is fully blocked, watch out for these warning signs:

  • Gurgling sounds as water drains
  • Unusual smell coming from drain gutter
  • Changes in toilet water level
  • Toilet draining slowly after flushing
  • Floor waste in shower overflowing

Paying attention to the warning signs can help us to get your drain fixed before it becomes a major problem. Not only is this much easier to do, but it will also be far less costly and time-consuming.

Burst or Leaking Pipes

It can be quite frightening to see water rushing across the floor of your home, but there is no need to panic. It is most likely the result of a burst pipe. The first thing you need to do is to turn off the main water supply to your home to stop the flow of water. Then, you can call us and we’ll send someone right over. If a pipe is leaking but not yet burst, you may notice wet patches in your home or discolouration of your walls or ceilings, so be on the lookout for those warning signs. The sooner we can fix the leak, the less damage it will cause.

Burst Hot Water Units or No Hot Water

As with a burst pipe, if you have a burst water heater, you should immediately turn off the water supply. If the heating unit is not burst but merely not working, simply turn the water heater off. This way, you’ll still be able to flush your toilets and use your sinks with cold water until we can fix the problem and restore your use of hot water.
